Website Services
Logos
The logo identifies your brand. The Logo is your business logo which could be simply the business name or some fancy multi-colored design you paid thousands of dollars for development (but I hope not). A logo is typically placed in the header, the first thing a visitor sees, on every page. Logo’s should be simple, clean and easy to read but also needs to draw attention. If you need a logo or an updated logo, we may be able to help in the design, just let us know.
Domain Names
The domain name or the site URL is the most valuable piece of real estate on your website. If your business is not well branded, you need a keyword in addition to the business name for best search performance. One recommendation is to have a short user friendly domain and a second search friendly domain, both pointing to the same website.
We have both eOntic.com and eOntic-Internet-Marketing.com where the first is simple, short and easy to remember; good for humans. The second URL is more search friendly where the search spiders can understand directly from the URL what the website is about. It’s always good to have an important keyword in your URL, which is then continued for each page.
Hosting
The hosting is the computer server where your finished website is placed and served onto the internet 24/7. We use only GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy.com is large, reliable, great customer service, has very low down times and their prices are very competitive. Again for search, the engines give better weight if it looks like your site will continue to be around awhile. Some people will do as little as one year lease for hosting and domain names, which shows the owner has little confidence in the business so the search engines certainly will not. The down time is important for both your viewers and for the search spiders when they crawl your site. If the server is down, this can be a mark against your site rankings.
Where a new business will need all three of these functions prior to site development; established websites will already have these functions. However it is always wise to review what you have and make changes if necessary.
Graphic Design and Copywriting
Graphic design and copywriting are two areas of expertise that is needed for website development, advertising and other public forms of promotion. Graphic design when handled correctly helps lower your bounce rate and increase your conversion rate.
Good Copy helps sell! This is even truer today than anytime in the past. Today you have many more people looking at your advertising with much more competition. There are two places that require good copywriting; ads and landing pages. Both require getting a viewers immediate attention, keeping their focus and then conversion.
Forums, Display Ads and Video
eOntic also offers services that will help differentiate your business from your competitors. For high traffic sites, a good tool for customer service is a website forum. A forum can provide your customers quick and easy access to help but also reduce your overhead.
Display Advertising on other websites can be useful at times just like newspaper advertising. However this should be used only in certain markets where advertising on a popular local website can provide a reasonable ROI.
Video has become very popular with the explosive growth of social networking sites like YouTube. Providing short videos about your business can help in branding. These videos can be placed on your website to increase attention, enhance your communication and interact with your customers or potential customers.
Contact eOntic for more information on any of these services.
